Manorma: Studying Sanskrit in the Forrest Hermitage
One of the most incredible things I’ve been exposed to during my time at Jivamukti’s Teacher Training is Manorma, the beloved Sanskrit scholar and teacher of my teachers. She is truly an incredible woman. Least importantly, but I can’t help myself from mentioning, she is so mesmerizing beautiful. It is the kind of outer beauty that comes from her inner beauty; it’s like it’s bursting forth out of every pore in her body, most especially through her deep chocolate eyes and incredible voice. And she is also a total genius. She had me writing in Devanagari, Sanskrit script, and speaking like the ancients did in no time at all.
She found Swami Brahmananda Sarasvati at age 13, and the rest is history. She studied with him, absorbed his knowledge and now she passes his teachings, the ancient teachings of Sanskrit, to her own students. And she makes it absolutely enrapturing. You can’t help but fall in love with the Language of Light when she is revealing all of its scared and beautiful components.
Watch her chant the Sarasvati Mantra here, and perhaps you will fall in love like I have. This woman has so much powerful and beautiful information to share that you MUST go to one of her courses or workshops if you have any mysterious inkling of interest and desire magically pulling you in that direction (she travels the world over, check her schedule here and she teaches at Jivamukti, too!). The wealth of knowledge and inspiration that flows from her reminds me why I want to study yoga, practice yoga, and try to live yoga. Being in her presence is to know true beauty.
Thank you soooooo much for posting the link to the Sarasvati Mantra! She is Incredible! I can’t stop listening to it! Extremely glad and happy for you…what an amazing opportunity. xo
Glad you like it, Lana!! Thanks for all the love and support! And trust me, that video does not do her voice justice, you won’t belive what she sounds like in person.
