Krishna and Radha

December 16, 2009

This month the focus at Jivamukti has been on stories.  This has allowed the teachers to take the idea of looking for meaning, and revealing meaning, in many directions.  It is so sweet to listen to my teachers tell stories at the beginning of each class.

Sangeeta told the story of Krishna and Radha.  Of Radha’s supreme, unshakable devotion to Krishna, and of their association together, which will remain forever and ever.  There’s is a union of ultimate proportions, symbolizing the soul’s longing to unify with God.  Radha left her husband and followed her heart to love Krishna.  Her love for him is pure, unbreakable, burning, and unconditional.  And in turn he loves her and needs her, with the same passion.  He is the God, she the personification of love for God.
