One Tiny Thing You Can Do to Feel Better

I’m reading this book Clean, and completely loving it. Even if you don’t want to do the Clean program, it’s so informative and worth reading.  Learning more about digestion and how the body works makes you want to eat better and treat your body with care.  Reading this has made me more conscious of what I put into my body and taught me how intense the digestion process is.  When we give our body a break to catch up on detoxification by not overloading the system with excess food to digest, we can feel the clarity that comes with being clean on the inside.

One of the simplest things the book advises is to drink a big glass of water first thing in the morning, to flush out all the toxins that accumulate while we sleep and immediately hydrate the body so it can begin working.  When I was in India, my teacher also encouraged me to do this because it is an ayurvedic practice for detoxification and overall health.  It’s so easy to wake up and have a tall glass of water first thing, and you can feel your body loving it.
