Henri Matisse's "The Dance."

Today in the beginning of Rima’s class as everyone was settling in, Russell Simmons made a lovely observation on the ebb and flow of life.  Rima asked him about the wrist guard he was wearing and he told her he pulled a bunch of tendons.  He said it was humbling to have to come into forearm stand on every down dog and have his whole practice altered.  He said his cast made holding forearm stand very easy and this caused his confidence to rise and also his cockiness.  Then the cast was removed and replaced with a soft wrist gaurd, and again he was humbled by the change.  He said that’s the dance of life, being humbled and then feeling confident and then being humbled again.
